Port Dickson
6:37 am
I'm back from Port Dickson!
It's been a fun holiday.
We left at 8 from subang and reached there at 10. It should have been 30 mins earlier but my father got lost in PD town.
The chalets we stayed in were extremely cute!
They had this "windows" in the floors where we could see the sea. My mom was terrified of them cause it looks like the glass would break under pressure. But they were quite solid so me and my brother had fun scaring my mom... wahahahhahha
The cool thing was in the morning, where the sun was up, the sun rays will be reflected by the sea surface into the room. So it creates natural lighting... (like the above picture) Very peaceful and serene!
We went to the beach next. The beach.... as expected was polluted. Some ppl there are just plain terrible. I can see styrofoam cups... ciggarete butts even a baby's diaper at the beach! The water was very murky.... eventhough it was so shallow, you can't see through the water no matter what. The only fun thing about this beach was that when it was low tide... it's really low. You can walk out i think about 10 metres from the beach into the sea and the sea level would only be at your calves.
Stupidly... i tried pulling out sand from the bottom of sea... only to discover i held a handful of black sludge... ewww...
This is some random drawing i drew went we went back from the beach. After i finished it, i didn't know where it went... couldn't find it anymore ::sobs::
Then, me and my brother went to the gym. THE GYM!!! I never been to one before so i was very jakun. Luckily only me and my brother was there so we could act like monkeys. I wore slippers..lol... so there was one time it slipped off my foot on the treadmill... wahahhaaa luckily there wasn't anybody there cause i also fall too. And i now know how unfit i am. I can only run for about 5 minutes than i will start panting like crazy.... My brother on the other hand (the gym veteran) was totally at ease. He did his routine exercise while i was jumping from one machine to the next like a monkey. I did sweat anyway and burned about 100 calories (accumulation from all the machine's reading)
My family and I went to camwhore around the hotel later. We went to Central Market... only to discover is wasn't a market at all. It was a pub with a few makan stores around it. One thing strange about PD town was that 90% of the shops were close eventhough it was a saturday! I think i'll die of boredom there.... subang is still very entertaining as the shops hardly ever close and we have so many shopping malls around to keep us entertained.
We went back to the beach... to find seashells (CaCO3...(lol i just noticed i shouldn't have put a bracket in the photo... miss tan would kill me)! I collected quite a few of very cute seashells. I noticed ppl digging for the live shells too. No idea what they are called but they look yucky cause you can see some white slug living in the shell when they are burrowing in the sand.
The company sponsored dinner was... okla. The steak was good but the rest was mediocre. The hotel was also too stingy to add fruit juices to the selection of drinks. And fruit juice ain't that expensive too... All we had was plain water and yet they didn't provide us a jug so we can fill it in ourselves. The waiters were supposed to fill it in but they were too busy talking so we had to ask them to fill in each time. We left early (by our standard) after my brother ate like 3 kg of meat.
The Koko Cabana beach cafe (i think it was called that) had some performence that night. We saw fire eaters!
We returned home the next morning :)
Btw, the photos above were taken by my elder brother with his steady steady hand...my pics would end up looking like the camera was going through a tornado :D
Disclaimer: bleh... i'm ashamed to say that the graphic style in this post is kinda copied from smashpop. It's a photograpy blog which has damn nice pics.
Mid years
6:25 am
I just finished my mid years... and phew was it tiring.
Physics wins the award for being the worst paper among all. The teachers were evil to make physics the last paper. Now all the students will not be able to enjoy their holiday and will just whine about their paper.
The paper which I had most free time (gasp! i actually had free time!!) was English.
I don't know why but i had time to complete my papers except for physics. I couldn't do physics any faster then i had. Damn.
But maybe that's because i panicked. First time doing 2 extended response and a graph in a row so i took more time then needed. Look at the clock and voila! Only an hour left.
Dang it....
But anyway, I got home and watched Grey's Anatomy. The scriptwriters really have a knack for making every episode depressing. Episode 24 and 25 is quite sad. But they probably did that to make the story loooooooonger.
Oh well, as long as its entertaining.
I still got a few hours before i head off to Port Dickson with my family.
Lol... can't wait to get my toes in the sand (polluted or not i don't care)

3. watch tv till i drop
4. sleep!
This is probably all i will do then.
Productive eh?

studs
1:56 am
Oh... my friend just reminded me about my piercings (this is how blur i am nowadays... to the point where i cannot remember what day comes after wednesday)
They are fine... no photos cause i'm a lazy bum.
Just the other day, i took them out to wash them... Feels so funny seeing so many little pieces of metal in the bucket of water.
Anyway, I shouldn't have done that. When the left piercing went back into the newly pierced hole, there was a really horrible pain (like when you just sprinkle salt on your wound) It was for a split second so it wasn't that bad. The worse was the left piercing.
I stabbed the stud back into the hole. The only problem was that I couldn't get the stud through the hole. It was so difficult finding the exit.
Then got fed up after 30 minutes of trying. I think the swelling made it worse (my ear look like it got stung by a bee). I just poke the stud the other way round (ouch... it was quite painful) Bleh so my earring was the other way round with the back facing front.
And I went for my driving test like that. Anyway, I passed my test (with a little help, fyi) and when I came back i poke the stud the other way round and SUCCESS!! I got it through!
btw... the JPA page is still loading (read my previous post..lol)

Waiting... and more waiting
1:32 am
It's 8:37 am. JPA results are out at 8 am. And the swirly thingy on my Mozilla tab is just going round and round and round... for 30 minutes.
This is even longer than the time I checked for National Service results. I wonder why?
Based on facts, National service is checked by thousands do students, hence should take longer to load (since all .gov.my sites are retarded)
But this stupid JPA thing is terrible. There only 3000 students would have to check! I think there are a few students who are so devastated in their results that they can't believe their eyes. So they keep refreshing.... jamming up the whole website.
Well.. can't blame them anyway, cause government websites are notorious for saying "maaf" in one second then "tahniah" in the next.
I hate government websites cause
Hmmm... I wonder if I have to morph into a panda bear again. Oh wait... I already am one after ESL projects and bio + chem

- they are so slowwwwwww
- have a 99.99999% of timing out during days like these
- they always have to include a flash introduction, as if we Malaysian will be wowed by the amazing graphics of it all *puke*. We do visit other sites made by better graphic designers you know. Anyway, who wants to see a flash intro to "Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam?"
- horrible layout. They rarely update their sites so they have little content. But they want to show that their website is so informative that they posted links everywhere in their website but all directing to the same page.

Funeral
5:56 pm
Just returned back from Teluk Intan where I attended my grandma's funeral (mother's side) A bit weird cause just 10 days ago my uncle (also mother's side) passed away and my mom had to go back there.
My grandma's death was quite a sudden one so it was quite unexpected to everyone. But i was nvr really close to her due to my lack of linguistic skills. Anyway, I learn quit a bit about chinese funeral this time.
Clothing
Oh, and i still owe pei chern a drawing to repay 40 cents.... so sad le have to keep borrowing money. Somemore i feel very bad when ppl say i don't need to return them.
Luckily I can draw to compensate them (well... my drawing should be worth at least 40 cents....)

Clothing
- Black shirt n pants is for the daughters and sons. They also attach a piece of straw with black cloth on the right hand sleeve.
- The grandchildren with the same family name would wear white t shirt and black pants with the same straw and black cloth but with an additional blue cloth over it on their right hand.
- Grandchildren who do not have the same family name will wear blue shirt and pants with a blue piece of cloth on their right hand.
- Any granddaughter who has married will have another red piece of cloth on top of the other pieces.
- Great grand children will wear green shirt and clothes with a red piece of cloth on their right side.
- Praying will usually last for 4 days were the 5th day will be the funeral. Praying is done at night, where each relative who attend will have to hold 2 joss sticks (representing my grandfather and grandmother since both have passed away) and follow the nun's prayer. This prayer will involve walking around gods and goddesses alters and the coffin. Will start at 8-12 (with 30 mins breaks in between)
- There will be burning of paper money throughout the whole first 4 days. The burning must not stop so relatives will usually take turns to burn the money. There are many different types of money. One will look like long strips of white paper with cutouts. These represent coins. Another will look like a gold square in the middle of a yellow paper and another is a silver square in the middle. The former is more value than the latter with both representing paper money. There is also a yellow paper with a hand on it and some writing. I always thought those were prayer scriptures. Actually, according to my cousin, those are like cheques signed by the Emperor. With this paper, you can request for anything in the afterlife. The last are hell money. These will resemble modern day banknotes xcept will be printed hell on it. This is for the deceased to spend the money in hell. According to wikipedia, it's for the deceased to bribe the hell ruler to let them go to heaven. Or something like that.
- On the night of the 4th day, we will burn all the paper money which are folded to resemble olden day money (looks like a cup with a bump in the middle) and also other stuff like paper car, paper tv, etc. Before burning, everyone must form a circle around the paper stuff and walk round pouring water around it. Then when the fire starts, all of us must link hands to form a circle and must not break the circle. This, is the hardest part. Since we were quite close to the fire, it felt like the heat was burning our hands and face... It was seriously damn hot. But if you break the circle, the deceased might not get everything that you burn.
- The husbands of the daughters must wear a red banner (with white cloth underneath) across their chest (ala miss universe) and tie a yellow ribbon around their waist. They will also carry a black umbrella.
- The people leading the funeral procession will be the sons and the eldest grandson.
- The procession will start when the coffin is loaded into the kereta mayat. Then, all the relatives will follow the car and walk till we reach a point. (i think in the olden days, we would have to walk all the way to the burial grounds barefooted) Then, we will head to the burial grounds with car.
- When we are there, it depends on whether the deceased will be burned or buried. Anyway, all the white colour stuff we have must discard it into the grave or burning area. (like white socks or white cloth (white shirts no need to burn la....)
- Oh, all the cars who head to the burial place must tie a red ribbon on their car. The fate of the red ribbon is somehow disputed though... some say we must tie the ribbon at the gate for good luck while others say we must discard it to avoid bad luck. Anyway, my mom decided to discard it.
- After the funeral, all attendees must walk over fire and wash their face with flower water to avoid bad luck.
- The daughters and sons are not supposed to wash their hair during this period.
- During prayer, the joss stick must be carried about eye level
- Before the coffin is closed, we have to lay paper money on the deceased and place jewelry.
- In my other grandma's funeral, (above) was not done but the husband had to place a pearl on the lips. After that, everyone took turns to say their last words to the deceased.
